Accommodations

Wedding events will be held at the La Cantera Resort and transportation will be provided from the La Cantera Resort and the Doubletree for all events. Our hotels are getting close to capacity, however, we have been in touch with them to secure some additional rooms for stragglers.

La Cantera Resort & Spa

We have rooms blocked off for wedding guests at La Cantera Resort & Spa (the location of the Saturday wedding and reception).

  • Rooms at the resort: There are king and double queen options available for guests at $399/night on Thurssday and Friday and $239/night on Saturday. You will have full access to the resort (golf course, pool, and spa, etc.). You can book a room at the main resort here, or you can call the reservations department at (855)499-2960 to book (block under Skaria / Banta or group code SBJ29A).
  • Villas at the resort: The Villas are a good option if you want a little more privacy. The Villas are a five-minute walk from the main resort property and come with access to your own golf cart to go back and forth. In addition to resort amenities, you will have a private pool, bar, and lounge. You can book a villa here or call the reservations department at (855)499-2960 to book (block under Skaria / Banta or group code SBJ29A).

Doubletree by Hilton San Antonio Northwest

The Doubletree is a seven-minute drive from the reception. We have secured a block at the hotel for guests. You can book here, or you can call the hotel directly to book at +1 210-690-0300 under the Banta-Skaria wedding block.

Additional Options

San Antonio is very Airbnb and Homeaway friendly if you prefer to rent a house/apartment. If you are not seeing the desired availability at the hotels above, The Eilan Hotel & Spa is a five-minute drive from the reception. You can book here, or you can call the reservations department at (321) 354-6122.

What to do
How to make the most of your time in Texas

We hope you are able to find some time to explore the fine city of San Antonio while you are in town. From the Riverwalk to the Alamo to the Pearl, the city is filled with fun activities. You should have some time to explore the city Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon. Here are a few suggestions.

Relax:

  • Loma de Vida Spa at the La Cantera Resort - the spa at La Cantera is one of the best in the southwest. You can see a spa menu here. We hope you can find some time to treat yo self!
  • Golf - La Cantera has two 18-hole golf courses: the Resort Course and the Palmer Course. We would recommend the Resort Course, which is rated as one of the best resort golf courses in North America.
  • Poolside Cabanas - if you are looking to lounge, you can rent a cabana at the La Cantera pool (if you are not staying at the resort, you can purchase a day pass.)
  • Sunset S'mores - served daily at the resort firepit.
  • Six Flags Fiesta - if you like amusement parks or if you are looking for family fun, Six Flags Fiesta is located close to the wedding events.
  • Sweat and Play - For those looking to squeeze a sweat into the weekend, La Cantera has tennis courts, running trails, and a gym. If you rather play, there are several bars, bocce courts, and an arcade.

Shop:

  • Shops at La Cantera - in case you forgot anything, the Shops at La Cantera are just a five-minute drive away accessible via the resort shuttle with over 140 stores.
  • The Rim - if you can't find what you are looking for at the Shops at La Cantera, the Rim is another large shopping complex seven minutes away accessible via the resort shuttle
  • San Marcos Outlets - for those coming out of the country (or if you are a shopaholic), the San Marcos outlets are ~45 minutes away (towards Austin) and was voted by The View as the third best place to shop in the world.

Explore Downtown:

  • The Riverwalk - one of the most popular destinations in town; the Riverwalk is an urban waterway in the heart of downtown. There are many shops/restaurants, and you can also go on a boat tour of the river.
  • The Alamo - a historic site located downtown. The Alamo offers free admission and is open from 9 am-5:30 pm.
  • The Pearl District - located north of downtown San Antonio, the Pearl is a fun neighborhood filled with restaurants and shops.
